Fusion Teams

Industry cloud platforms are transforming the way businesses operate. The success of these platforms depends on the people who run them. Fusion teams have emerged as an essential component of industry cloud platforms, ensuring success by bringing together cross-functional experts. Properly creating and managing these teams can help overcome challenges and take advantage of the opportunities the technology has to offer. According to Gartner, 84% of organizations have built at least 1 fusion team.[1] The team members' diverse backgrounds and approaches towards problem-solving help organizations identify new opportunities, leading to innovation and growth.

Traditional teams are known for their rigid structures and resistance to change. They follow standard operating procedures and are less likely to experiment with new technologies. When traditional teams operate industry cloud platforms, they tend to rely heavily on their previous knowledge and skills. They may not take full advantage of these platforms, limiting their productivity and efficiency.

A highly reputable staffing firm, ManpowerGroup places more than 600,000 people in new jobs every day. Having expanded rapidly, the Portuguese branch needed a way to automate business processes and replace its patchwork IT infrastructure. No documentation existed for business processes, and it was unclear who owned what. Besides that, many tasks that could have been automated were still being carried out manually, resulting in staff being underutilized, which is common in organizations of this size. A modernized IT infrastructure had to integrate the various systems and processes. The company could then easily provide data that Manpower could use to continually optimize operations, make critical business decisions and enable business growth. To modernize the IT infrastructure, it was necessary to integrate various systems and processes. The company's data was then used by Manpower to accelerate growth, optimize operations, and make critical business decisions. ManpowerGroup Portugal engaged WeMake, a Bizagi partner and specialist service provider in Portugal with experience in implementing Digital Process Automation, to implement the Bizagi platform. With the help of Bizagi and WeMake, credit release functionality was made available at CRM level and linked to commercial proposals inside the process platform.  In order to validate and release requests automatically, ManpowerGroup Portugal created its own algorithm. Today 83% of credit release decisions are now automated, freeing up employees’ time to carry out tasks that are more valuable. ManpowerGroup Portugal recently passed 3.5 million tasks on Bizagi. All processes are now mapped and documented.  Contract production time was reduced by 87.5%, A 90% reduction in email and Excel work, SLA delivery time was reduced from 48 to two hours, and employee onboarding time was reduced by 20%.[2]

In the context of industry cloud platforms, a fusion team typically comprises software developers, data scientists, cloud architects, and business analysts. These professionals work together to design, implement, and manage industry cloud platforms. They bring a diverse range of skills and knowledge, which allows them to develop innovative solutions that are customized to suit the specific needs of a particular industry. Fusion teams offer a broader range of perspectives, which help identify potential problems and develop solutions more efficiently. They are more adaptable to making changes and since they have more autonomy, they can make decisions more quickly, test new features and iterate faster. This helps ensure that the platforms continually evolve and stay ahead of the curve. The creativity and innovation in these teams help businesses differentiate themselves from their competitors and provide unique value propositions to their customers.

Fusion teams are offering businesses a fresh perspective on how to approach complex challenges. By harnessing these fusion teams in industry cloud platforms, market leaders are leveraging the technology of the platform to facilitate communication and collaboration among team members, allowing for a more streamlined and efficient problem-solving process. The ability to rapidly prototype and test new ideas with the platform's comprehensive suite of tools and services allows businesses to quickly create and iterate on new solutions, gaining valuable feedback along the way. They are helping businesses stay agile and adaptable, allowing them to respond quickly to changing market conditions and customer needs. These teams can drive innovations and accelerate growth. Their cross-functional approach to innovation is helping businesses break down silos and foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. As cloud technology continues to evolve, it's clear that fusion teams will play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of this industry.
